Did you know that more than 70% of people in the U.S.A claim to use coupon discounts to save money and approximately 85 percent use coupons to buy grocery and consumer goods? Quite stunning statistics I think you would have to agree. That means that if you’re reading this article and don’t use coupons regularly, you are in the minority! The good thing is that anyone and I mean anyone can jump on and use coupons to save themselves money at anytime with no understanding required. In this rough economic situation, it becomes even more important to understand the use of coupons and how they can save you serious coin.

Apparently the concept of coupons being used as a promotional tool was conceived by C. W. Post. He initially offered a coupon worth one cent to his patrons on every purchase of Grape-Nut. Since then, the term couponing has become a world wide phenomenon for both businesses and consumers alike. Over the past decade as developing countries have become greater users of the Net we have seen an explosion in popularity of the use and release of coupons. Traditionally, coupons were distributed through magazines, newspapers, and more in the 90’s and early 2000s via email. Whilst these mediums are still in play, the most popular form of distributing coupons is via the Internet. This is due to the fact that hundreds of millions of people access the Internet on a daily basis and it also helps companies save their money as the Internet is relatively inexpensive. As we move into the deeper understanding of web 2.0, social networking has also increased the popularity of using the Net as the sole medium to distribute and promote coupons. Just think about Facebook and Twitter. These 2 sites alone generate such buzz around topics and products that businesses are able to judge quickly if their new product line will be successful or not.

Even within the coupon sector, there are different “product” lines. Here are 2 types:
Manufacturer Coupons: manufacturer coupons are created by the product manufacturing company to boost sales and increase brand awareness. These coupons are often distributed via online surveys, email newsletters or straight from the manufacturer’s website. Simply the consumer takes the coupon to the store and gets a discount or in some cases free product and the manufacturer pays face value of the coupon to the store owner.

Printable coupons are also available on websites offering coupon deals online, such as www.FreeStuff4Free.com. On such websites, users will not only have access to coupons offering discounts, but often coupons that give the user freebies and free samples. These sites are a great way to access hundreds of discount coupons in various consumer products categories.

Understanding these 2 product lines will put you in good frame of mind to begin to save on groceries and many other shopping categories. If you’re still in doubt, go to Google and type in key phrases like free stuff, coupons, discount coupons and see what search results you will find. You will be well on the way to saving you and your family thousands of dollars annually!

Today I would like to advise you about my favorite four letter word beginning with ‘F’. And no, it is not rude! It’s the word ‘FREE’. An amazing word that elicits feelings of warmth and a sense of achievement. You know that feeling when you get something for nothing in return. In this day and age of technology the idea of free stuff has moved from being advertised on TV and magazines to the Internet. And if you know where to look online, you will find a resource of freebies from health and household products, to food to beauty samples. In these difficult economic times, money is tight with many having to change their lifestyles completely in order to survive and make ends meet. I have found the best solution in free samples, which can help during financial difficulty. Every little bit will help, and if you keep a tally of the savings you will be astounded at what you can save.
The first thing about finding free stuff online that will benefit you is that you can seek from the comfort of your home. With an abundance of resource at your disposal with a click of a mouse, there is no outlay of paying for magazines or newspapers to cut out coupons to saving money. So you have already saved money in that area. You should have your printer ready in case you need to print any coupons on demand.
Another great thing is that often you can register for freebies online with as little as an email address. However, when you register for free samples online, you should understand that your personal information, such as your email address may be used by third parties to contact you about other offers. Therefore it is advisable to set up an email account that you will designate for free samples only.
Unfortunately when searching for freebies, you have to be on alert. Whilst you have the safety and security of your home to search for free samples from, you have to be wary for your online security. So be aware of scammers. Regreattably, there are numerous online scams that prey on unsuspecting individuals who are looking for good deals and free stuff. You need to take precaution on which free sites suit your needs and which you are most at ease with. Some may be scams and others may be full of affiliate links. Scammers will do anything to con money from you. Most reputable sites will include their privacy or terms of usage agreements on their site. In addition, genuine sites will never ask for your social security number or credit card number. So if any website whether it be a free site or otherwise asks for such information, be extremely cautious.
So whilst freebies will benefit you, the old saying “if it’s too good to be true, then it probably is” applies here.

I can’t believe how much I detest shopping for groceries. The only reason why I do, is because unfortunately my body needs food to survive. If I had my way, I wouldn’t eat and therefore would be able to save substantial amounts of money each day to be able to spend it on what I actually want to spend it on. Am I frustrated? Well yes, it looks like you may have caught me in a moment of weakness where I have just returned from grocery shopping and my wallet is feeling significantly lighter. In this financial recession where money is so tight, coming back from weekly grocery shopping demoralizes me somewhat. In fact the thought of having to shop for the groceries depresses me. Do any of you feel like that? Bottom line, many families are now struggling to make ends meet and to be able to put food on the table.

However in recent times, I have discovered a few key ideas that companies are engaging to not only help the consumer but also help their own back pocket (basically a win/win situation for these businesses). There is no point pricing products out of the reach of the masses because in the end they will suffer themselves when they need to report on earnings. The two concepts which I am referring to are coupons and free samples.
Coupons: This has become a multi-million dollar concept with businesses willing to offer discounts or freebies in attracting new patrons whilst trying to keep current customers loyal. There are a number of websites that offer coupons across a large range of categories.

One of the best websites that offers coupons on a daily basis is coupons.com. Check it out. From $1 off and upwards to sometimes offering substantial savings, coupons combined with sales at large stores like CVS and Walmart can often mean free stuff. It is considered part and parcel of these cutting edge and ruthless times. In fact coupons are being used through social media like Facebook and Twitter by a number of major businesses. By creating a buzz around their company, businesses are trying to gain relatively cheap promotion using Facebook groups and fan pages. If you do not use coupons when shopping for your groceries, then I suggest you begin using them to save yourself some serious coin.

Free Samples: This is the other concept that has grown in status over the past couple of years and definitely more during the recent financial economic crisis. By providing miniature samples of their products, businesses are able promote their products at a relatively cheap cost than advertising on television or radio. By releasing new products to the community via freebies also allows for feedback and whether or not they need to tinker with the product or marketing. By surfing the Internet, there are a range of free stuff sites available including FreeStuff4Free.com which allows you to trial products without any obligations, often saving you money and trips to the stores as the samples are posted to you.
Engage with these 2 concepts and start saving now!
